Freedom Chardonnay is a wine that is not easy to describe, it has many flavors.

These Flavors of Chadonnay are not very easy for me to describe to you. Because everyone has different tastes. Because many Chardonnay Wines have a high aromatic complexity, that a lot of people enjoy. Due to the techniques on how they make this wine is (particularly the use of oak) than the variety’s intrinsic qualities.

Here are some Technical Wine Terms

Malolactic fermentation gives distinctive buttery aromas. Fermentation and/or maturation in oak barrels contributes notes of vanilla, smoke and hints of sweet spices such as clove and cinnamon. Extended lees contact while in barrel imparts biscuity, doughy flavors. Because of this high level of winemaker involvement, Chardonnay has become known as the “winemaker’s wine”.

This variety of wine is often said to be relatively flavor-neutral. The neutral flavoring is respossible for most of the fruity flavors you find in Chardonnay Wines. These flavors range from the tropical (banana, melon, pineapple and guava) to stonefruits (peach, nectarine and apricot), citrus and apples.

The Climate really plays a major role with dictating wich fruit flavors a Chardonnay will have. Wildly speaking, warm area’s like California, Chile and much of Australia tend to give it the more topical flavors. Where the Temperate area’s such as Southern Burgundy or northern New Zealand will help create the wine marked out as stonefruit notes. Then the coolest Charonnay vineyards that are found in Chablis, Chmpagne and Germany really lean towards the green-apple aromas.

This is just an idea to help you to pair this wine with. So you can have a wonderful Dinner together.

Pairs beautifully with lobster and clams. Is an unexpected treat with fish and chips.
