Chardonnay: There a different styles to this wine and we should keep in mind about what food really goes great with this wine. This wine is a Full-bodied, California-style Chardonnay with a lot of oak and butter prences. Is there a possibility that the barrels it is made in is light on the oak or even not oak at all? You want to keep this in mind when trying to choose which wine you want to pair with your food.

We say the best part about Chardonnay is it really makes your food taste so good, where some of the other white wines you have tried don’t make it taste the way you want. Chardonnay is a great wine to pare with creamy dishes.

Cheese/nuts: asiago, havarti, Stilton or other blue-veined cheeses with oaky Chardonnay, mild semi-soft cheeses with unoaked Chardonnay; ; almonds and nearly any toasted nut. Meat/poultry: chicken, pork, veal. Seafood: lobster, crab, halibut, shrimp. Fruits and Veggies: apple, mango, potato, squash. Herbs and Spices: sesame, basil, tarragon. Sauces: cream sauces, pesto. Desserts: vanilla pudding, banana bread.

The best tip I can give when pairing Chardonnay is make sure your wine doesn’t overwhelm a dish with more subtle flavors. It is known to do so!
